Tom

Yeah - I took it both ways, and “odd – not normal, out of kilter with peers" is actually a compliment for any accountant.

;-)

Martyn,

I originally meant it in the sense of "you find the odd account who actually thinks Excel is evil" i.e. odd as in not common (this may be an Hiberno-English turn-of-phrase, not sure). But on rereading I though perhaps people might take it as "odd - not normal, out of kilter with peers". But what the heck I figured, either way, it was fair comment :-)

Great summary Tom.

Insightful, thought provoking and challenging. Really has got me fired up

I can't wait for WSS3 - it should answer my prayers and finally allow me to put all the pieces of an enterprise class system 'for nuts' using our FOSS ERP system and Palo as the warehouse.

Roll on July/September!

Martyn

Oh and thanks for the hat tip!

[...] June 22, 2009 by Tom Gleeson As a result of a request on the Palo support forum last week looking for a VBA tool to directly access the Palo OLAP server via its native HTTP API, I realised I had such a tool. I had built it about a year ago (to use alongside Fiddler Web Debugger and .NET Reflector) to help me understand in detail the interaction between the Excel client and Palo. (Remember this was before Jedox released the Excel add-in as open source) [...]
